Work Canada Application

BEFORE APPLYING FOR THE WORK CANADA PROGRAM, YOU MUST ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM CONDITIONS & CANCELLATION REFUND POLICY:

Please read the following very carefully. It refers to conditions that you are agreeing to by making this application.

  1. Travel insurance for the duration of your employment contract must be bought through IEP.  Comprehensive travel insurance designed for working holidays will be available.
  2. Cancellations will only be accepted in writing and will be effective as of the date received by IEP. Cancellations will be accepted by letter, fax or e-mail.
  3. For cancellations received within seven days of the application being received by IEP, a $50 cancellation administration fee will apply.
  4. Cancellations received after seven days of application will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
  5. Cancellations as a result of failing to attend your interview/job fair will forfeit 100% of the program fee.
  6. If you do not receive a job offer at the job fair, you will receive a full refund (upon return of the Job Fair Confirmation Pack) or  the full program fee can be credited to another IEP Work Canada program.
  7. Cancellations received after attending and accepting a position at the job fair, or departing New Zealand will receive no refund.
  8. Cancellations and refunds of goods and services which are provided by suppliers other than IEP (airfares, travel insurance, airport transfers, accommodation, visas etc) will be at the discretion of the relevant suppliers and subject to the conditions set by those suppliers. Details are available from IEP.
  9. Applicants must advise IEP immediately of any changes to their travel dates so that hostel bookings can be amended. Any changes made less than 10 days before arrival may result in additional fees.
  10. IEP cannot accept liability for any loss or damage to any papers giving evidence or support in connection with your application. You should photocopy everything before sending it into the office.
  11. The Canadian High Commission reserves the right to request additional information regarding Work Canada Job Fair applications. This information will be provided at your own expense and may result in a delay to your departure. Such requests will be made on random basis without prejudice.
  12. Applicants wishing to work in medical, childcare, or primary/secondary teaching occupations whilst on Work Canada will require a government approved medical exam as part of their application. Such applicants must allow an additional six to eight weeks for their visa to be issued. Some applicants with medical conditions may also be instructed by the High Commission to undertake a medical exam as part of their application.
  13. Some positions commence within six weeks of the Job Fairs. To secure a position you should apply for your Canadian Working Holiday Visa prior to the Job Fair.
  14. All attending employers will require a clean Police Report upon commencement of employment. We strongly recommend you applying for your report prior to the Work Canada Job Fair.
  15. All employment contract details must be adhered to, including but not limited to, start and finishing dates.

PROGRAM DECLARATION
I agree to act ethically and responsibly at all times while I am a participant on this program. I declare that the statements on this application are true and that any false declaration on my part may result in forfeiture of my place on this program with no entitlement to any refund of my fee or any consequent expenditure. I hereby declare that I have no intention of staying in the nominated country after the final date allowed by this program. I know of no reason why I may be refused a Work Authorization or entry into the nominated country. I agree to take with me a minimum proof of funds required. Additionally, I agree to repay, either directly or via IEP, any and all outstanding financial obligations such as telephone bills, loans, outstanding rents, etc., incurred during my time as a program participant.
